II edition of Trafalgar Skim conrtest was a big event! Lots of participants in differnt categories wich show that spanish skimboarding continues to grow and in the same way, national skimboarders are better day by day.
Two months after Portuguese Internacional Ocean Spirit, II International Trafalgar raised the curtain on (during first weekend of September) and our team riders killed it during all competition! With totally awesome results this time.
Our riders show their high level in all categories, in spite of big abcenses of last minute, like current champion, Rafa Castillo and Portuguese champion, Simao Pinto.
In girls division, Xoxe show great form again and get the tittle one more time after his victories in the International UST of Portugal a couple months before and his 1st place in first edition in Cádiz in 2016. This time winning portuguese champion, Pipa Pinto and Julia Espinosa, from Málaga. A great succes, cause the standard over just the last two years has improved immensely (more heats ever in a contest in Spain).
In kids division (under 14), Ale Montañés – Spanish skimboarding new diamond – take the victory, winning every heat from first to the final, and he is only 12! Kids are improving a lot down there and the reason is probably the good work and tips that Juanlu González is sharing with all kids every day.
It felts in sub-18 divistion too with all young guns killing it heat after heat. Our team rider Jesule’ González was left at the gates of victory in a epic battle with Javi Sola. Top level for this two guys. In add, we are proud to say that the great majority is riding our boards.
Open division, involving many of best riders in Europe was very well matched and supose a hard battle to advance to final rounds. The final was probably the most even final ever. The four competitors deserves to win, but finally was Hugo ‘Legend’ Santos who take the good taste, taking the win ahead our team riders Juanlu González y Ricardo Dias. In add, Adrián Clavijo y Jesule’ González complete one more epic thing to our all team/famility, taking 5th and 6th too.
To sum up, in masters division (up to 30), firsts three positions was to Dogflut riders too. Janovi Ródenas was champion, Adrián Clavijo, 2nd and Sergio Gil ‘Shein 3rd clasificated.
In concluison, a great days to all of us. Perfect organization by Skimcádiz, have many entries and put on a successful event and really good feling from everybody in the beach.
