To date, the last addition to our team was Bill Bryan, the GOAT of skimboarding. That was in 2021, and since then there haven’t been any new additions to our competition team.
But in 2025, after four years without new members, and despite receiving frequent sponsorship requests and proposals from many different countries, the time has come for two of the best young European skimboarders to officially join our family.
The first is Vicente Mata, who, after years competing in junior categories, is now of legal age and ready to demonstrate his progress and skill in the Open category.
His rapid development has been meteoric, as shown in the numerous videos he shares on his Instagram. He’s seen skimboarding and skurfing (surfing long right-handers on his skimboard).
So much so that this year he completed the entire Euro Skim Tour for the first time, and in his debut year as a team rider, he finished in a very respectable fifth place. We’ll have to see what he’s capable of in 2026 if he continues to hone his skills at the same pace.
The second is our young and beloved diamond, Nico Morales. Although our brand philosophy is not to sponsor underage riders, he’s been part of the family since he was a little kid, used to traveling with us, competing in both junior and open categories, and living with the team, so it was time to make it official sooner than usual.
After a year abroad in Canada (without skimboarding) and missing the first stage of this year’s European tour, he showed in Cádiz that he’s ready for big goals. He’s the Spanish Junior Champion and European runner-up in 2025. He already proved he’s ready to compete head-to-head with the best in the Open category when he finished fifth at the 2024 International Ocean Spirit (Portugal) at just 16 years old. With little pressure and a lot of enthusiasm, it will be a pleasure to accompany our Nikki to the top, or as far as he wants to go.
